Prof. Karl Eriksson (Szwecja)
Prof. Karl Eriksson is senior consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Stockholm South Hospital and Professor of Orthopaedics at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. He went to medical school at the Karolinska Institute and at the UCLA Medical School, LA, USA and obtained his medical degree in 1988 from the Karolinska Institute. He became specialist in orthopaedic surgery in 1994 and completed his PhD in 2001. In 2004 he conducted a one year clinical and academic fellowship in Melbourne, Australia (Melbourne knee fellowship).
In addition to clinical and academic work at the university hospital, he also has a position at the Ortopediskt Center Sophiahemmet private hospital, Stockholm. His current clinical practice profile is comprehensive knee surgery (open and arthroscopic) including sports trauma, degenerative diseases, and general orthopaedic trauma.
Prof. Eriksson has the following international appointments: ESSKA General Secretary, and past chair ISAKOS knee and sports preservation committee. He is a member of ESSKA, ISAKOS, Australian Knee Society, ACL Study Group and Magellan Society. He is a board member at the Swedish ligament registry board and he is also on the KSSTA editorial board. Within sports medicine, he has been the chief team physician for the Swedish national cross country ski team 1993–2002, Olympic team doctor for the Swedish Olympic team 1994 and 1998 as well as team doctor for professional football teams 1990–2012.
Prof. Leif Ryd (Szwecja)
Leif Ryd is an orthopaedic surgeon and former Professor at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. His clinical areas of expertise consist of degenerative joint disease (osteoarthritis) of the hip and knee, as well as traumatic knee injuries. During his extensive clinical research career, he has focused on various aspects of osteoarthritis, mainly in the knee and within areas such as implant fixation, osteoarthritis etiology and early diagnosis.
Dr Clemens Kösters (Niemcy)
Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Clemens Kösters is head of the clinic for orthopaedic, trauma- and hand surgery at Maria-Josef-Hospital Greven, Germany. He also holds the position of Adjunct Professor for Orthopaedic Surgery at the University Clinic of Muenster. He went to medical school at Westfaelian-Wilhelms-University of Muenster, and got his medical degree in 2003.
He completed his PhD in 2007 at Medical Faculty of the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz and became specialist in orthopaedic surgery in 2010.
His international experience includes an AO-Trauma Fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, USA, under the mentorship of Prof. David L. Helfet. Throughout his career, Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Kösters has held key roles in various medical institutions and has contributed significantly to several medical associations and research groups, including the German Knee Society’s Fracture Expert Group and German Chair of Italian-German Orthopaedic Society “AGORA”. Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Kösters has extensive experience from use of patient specific knee prosthesis systems, as well as patient specific focal resurfacing implants.
